Cenric Clement-Evans

Cenric is a solicitor at NewLaw Cardiff joining in January 2012. From 2008 onwards he has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). He is also accredited as an APIL Fellow. 

Cenric has previously served as co-ordinator and secretary of APIL's special interest group on occupational health and co-ordinator of APIL Wales between 1998 and 2008. 

He is a personal injury specialist and over the last 25 years the vast majority of his work has been on behalf of people injured at work. This has included both accidents and industrial disease including asbestos injuries. 

Cenric is a regular APIL lecturer and has lectured for many years in APIL's accidents at work series. He has spoken at and chaired many APIL industrial disease conferences including the last 2 APIL Asbestos conferences. He has contributed to APIL responses to numerous consultations on issues of Health and Safety. 

Cenric was delighted at the acknowledgement in the 14th and 15th editions of the "EL bible" "Munkman on Employer's Liability" (Cotter and Bennett). He has also been named as a leader in his field in the Chambers guide to the UK legal profession. 

Cenric has given numerous media interviews on health and safety issues over the years both in Welsh and English, with the very first one being on the subject of asbestos in the late 1990s! 

Cenric is a Welsh speaker born in Liverpool in 1962. He is a graduate of the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. He lives in Cardiff and is married to Louise with two sons, Tomos Cian and Osian Hedd. His interests include being a taxi service for his sons and football. He is a devotee of the "School of Science". He is now co-manager and coach for the Maindy Corries U13s White football team. He is a member of Unite. 

Cenric is now a member of the Asbestos in Schools Committee and a spokesperson for the Right to Know: Asbestos in Schools Wales Campaign.
